Qigong Workshop

*** POSTPONED TO JUNE 28 ***

WHEN: Saturday, June 28 | 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

WHAT: Seasonally themed, this workshop is designed to support the organs and meridians associated in Chinese medicine with the time of year. Developed as a healing art, qigong is a gentle movement practice that strengthens your vital energy (qi). Similar to tai chi, it is usually practiced slowly while standing, but because it does not involve a specific sequence of movements it tends to be simpler to learn. No experience needed.

Following an hour of standing qigong practice, we will settle onto the floor to learn a few self-acupressure points. (A couple chairs will be available if needed.) The workshop will conclude with a brief meditation, either seated or supine, in which a mini meridian massage on the hands/feet and lower legs/arms will be offered.

BRING: Wear comfortable clothing. Clean shoes or bare feet are fine. No equipment is required for qigong itself, but for the end of the workshop, please bring a mat/blanket to lie on and a block/cushion to sit on if you have any. Some mats and cushions will be available if needed.

WHERE: 245 Phenix Ave, Cranston, RI | Light of Hope (formerly Above All Holistic Health & Wellness)

Parking and entrance are available in the rear of the building. Free street parking is available right beside the parking lot if it’s full.

COST: $25. Register for the workshop by paying via Venmo or PayPal. Registration in advance is required.
