Acupressure Points for the Heart & Small Intestine
To conclude my long and meandering blog post series on the Fire element, I’ll share some acupressure points on the Heart and Small Intestine meridians. For more background on these organs and the Fire element, check out this earlier post.
Heart 7: Shen Men, Spirit Gate
Located on pinkie-side of the inner wrist, in the small hollow to the thumb-side of the pisiform bone
One of the top points for insomnia; calms the mind & spirit, eases palpitations, soothes volatile emotions, and aids short-term memory
Heart 8: Shao Fu, Lesser Palace
Located on the palm, between the bones extending down from the fourth finger and pinkie, on what is considered the heart line in palm reading (about where the pinkie lands when curling the hand into a fist)
Calms the mind & spirit, eases feeling of oppression in chest, clears heat from the Heart & Small Intestine
Small Intestine 3: Hou Xi, Back Stream
Located on the side of the hand, over the knuckle of the pinkie toward the wrist
Benefits the back of the head, neck, and back, calms the mind & spirit, benefits the sensory orifices
Small Intestine 19: Ting Gong, Palace of Hearing
Located on the face, next to the tragus of the ear; easier to find when jaw is open
Benefits ears, calms the mind & spirit
